Reaffirming its commitment to the families of martyred soldiers, the Uttarakhand government has taken an important step. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved giving government jobs to the dependents of two martyred soldiers on compassionate grounds.

Following the Chief Minister's approval, Kiran, the wife of martyred soldier Jagendra Singh from Tehri Garhwal district, will be given a Group 'C' post in the Tehri District Magistrate's office. Similarly, Abhishek Negi, the brother of martyred soldier Adarsh Negi, will be appointed to a Group 'C' post in the Public Works Department office in New Tehri.

These appointments are being made under the state government's rules, which were specially created to provide government service opportunities to the dependents of martyred soldiers (from the Indian Army and Paramilitary forces) who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand.
