Dehradun’s Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences (SGRR IM&HS) has received approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) to increase its MBBS seats from 150 to 200. The information was shared by the institute’s Principal, Dr Ashok Nayak.

Following the approval, Shrimahant Devendra Das congratulated the faculty, staff, and management of the college. Established in 2006, SGRR IM&HS has grown into one of Uttarakhand’s largest medical colleges. It now offers 200 MBBS seats, 162 postgraduate seats, and 19 super-speciality (DM/MCh) seats.

The institute’s affiliated Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital caters to thousands of patients daily and was recently rated highly in the NMC’s assessment, supported by its strong clinical base, experienced faculty, advanced research facilities, and well-equipped library.

Officials said the increase in MBBS seats will not only expand opportunities for the state’s youth in medical education but also strengthen healthcare services across Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh.
