Even after the rains have subsided, landslides continue to plague the hills of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. On Wednesday, a major landslide occurred on the Birahi-Nijmula motor road, completely blocking the crucial route that connects the region.
The landslide was so severe that it sent a massive cloud of dust across the entire area, causing panic among local residents. People living nearby captured videos and photos of the incident, which have since gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, the concerned department has stated that while debris removal work had started, they are facing significant challenges. Officials reported that the continuous falling of rocks and debris poses a serious risk, making it difficult to clear the road.

They have assured that the route will be cleared and made operational for traffic as soon as the rockfall ceases and it is safe for the machinery to work.
