Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal won the internet after he shared about a major feat that his popular food delivery app achieved for the ‘greater good’. Keeping roadside emergencies and the importance of basic medical care in mind, Zomato recently held a CPR training session, where around 4,300 of its delivery agents were reportedly trained under professional guidance. Apart from it being a thoughtful gesture that might end up becoming a huge aid during emergencies, the brand also broke the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest first aid lesson’. Taking to social media, Goyal announced the exciting news and also shared a few pictures from the session, which went viral. The session was held in Mumbai.

As per Zomato’s other post, its delivery agents will also carry medical aids that might be helpful under certain situations.

The post was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The post was captioned, “Yesterday in Mumbai, we broke the 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝s for the largest first aid lesson at a single venue, together with 4,300 delivery partners. Over 30,000 @zomato delivery partners are now professionally trained to provide medical aid and help during critical roadside emergencies. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Congratulations! That's a very valuable gesture by Zomato. You must also consider some Driver education /training for your riders- for their safety and well-being, and also to improve your image with the public. Food delivery riders are considered risky drivers,” a user said.

“I hope they have accident insurance,” added a second person. “I see so many Zomato & Swiggy riders come to the casualty at night with road traffic accidents (caused mostly by drunk drivers), Zomato must consider providing arm & knee guards to riders at a minimal price or as an incentive, it could save their lives,” added another.
