Indian Railways Viral Video: The Indian Railways is back in the headlines and the reason is something that you already might have guessed; overcrowding. In the last few years, trains have been reduced to nothing but a transport medium with no ‘rules and regulations’, and social media is the very proof of the same. Several videos have come forward, where from non-AC trains to even the recently introduced Vande Bharata Express, several trains were seen ‘hijacked’ by ticketless passengers. Now, another video was added to the list, where a train’s bathrooms, floor, aisle and even doors were completely blocked by ticketless passengers.
The video went viral and further triggered the internet. Repeating the same issue, social media began to chastise the Indian Railways and demanded strict action against the matter. As the video went viral, it also gained the attention of the Railway Seva, who responded to the video.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SachinGuptaUP’. The post was captioned, “This picture is of Chhattisgarh Express (train no. 18237). Seat, floor, gate, gallery, bathroom...whoever found a place, fell asleep sitting there. Railway Minister from Eurasia, please pay some attention to the trains for the poor as well, increase the number of coaches.”

The video has been doing rounds on social media, ever since it was shared. Most people expressed their displeasure seeing the lack of actions against such issues, while the rest blamed ‘overpopulation’ as the culprit. Many also raised questions on the Indian Railways and the steps the ministry is taking against overcrowding in trains. The video was shared yesterday and pulled 172K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “They are not able to run Indian Railways properly and they talk about running bullet trains,” a user said. “By looking at their condition, it has become clear that the dream of the bullet train will remain just a dream,” added a second person.
“It's right time for India to introduce #PopulationControlBill request @narendramodi @PMOIndia @AmitShah please make a law on population because India has limited resources which are not enough for continuously increasing population! And if we talk about trains then normally this situation has been common for years(before the Modi era) in those trains which are running between WB/UP/BIHAR to Maharashtra/Gujarat!” added another.
