Amazon Big Billion Day: Mega sales on giant online shopping apps have become the new shopping season, for which people often save money and fill their ‘wishlist’ carts weeks before the sale finally begins. Doing something similar, a social media user grabbed the opportunity to order a MacBook Air M1 through Amazon on its Big Billion Day sale. The expensive laptop cost only Rs 63,000 on the day of the sale, turning it into a perfect deal. However, when the package finally arrived at the doorstep of the user, the entire thing turned into a nightmare. The user, taking it to Reddit, claimed that the order came with a broken HP laptop. Immediately taking action, the user returned it, however, he still took the incident to social media to ask the netizens for suggestions.
The post was shared on the social media platform Reddit, by Redditor ‘MolassesFuzzy3405’, with the title, “AMAZON BIG BILLION (SCAM) DAY.”
The description further read, “I placed an order for a MacBook Air M1 via Amazon (Business Prime account) on October 7th at a great deal of 63,000 INR. The order was processed smoothly and was scheduled for delivery today.”
“Around 5 PM, the delivery person arrived, requested the OTP (I had confirmed it was not an Open Box delivery with customer support), and handed over the package. I began recording the unboxing, only to discover a BROKEN HP PAVILION inside the box, as good as a paperweight. It was a moment of disbelief, something you hope never happens to you,” the user further explained. After elaborating on the situation, the user also urged the netizens for advice or suggestions.

The post went viral and left the netizens shocked. Many related to the incident and recalled their own stories where they faced a similar issue. Some also pointed out the importance of recording an unboxing video due to incidents such as these. The Reddit post was shared mere hours ago and pulled more than 900 upvotes.
Taking to the comment sections, the netizens shared their views. “Chill bro, if you have the video they will for sure replace it. Happened with me once, i once got wrong product too but got the money back,” a user said. “Post this on Twitter tag all Indian tech creators,” suggested a second netizen. “Unboxing videos are so important that I have opened my YouTube channel and put all relevant unboxing for shoes/watches/laptop etc. If I am unboxing why not upload it,” said a third person. “Amazon refund policy is pretty good compared to flipkart's,” pointed out a fourth user. “Today I had rejected a laptop delivery looking at condition of outer packaging. Packing all crumbled on corners. Delivery boy surprised saying they are not aware package has laptop,” said a fifth person.
