Even the smallest of gestures can go a long way forward for people in any kind of emergency. A man, quite recently, got lucky enough to experience this firsthand, when he ordered something from the online delivery app Blinkit. As soon as the app noticed that the order was placed from a hospital, it decided to prioritise the man’s order, along with sending some warm regards to the consumer. Needless to say, the gesture won the man, who then lauded the same on social media, where he narrated the entire incident.

The social media post began to circulate on the internet, soon after it was shared. Most people loved the gesture and applauded the brand for showing ‘genuine care’, while the rest also dubbed it a smart marketing strategy.

The post was shared on LinkedIn, by the handle Prabhat Motwani. The post was captioned, “Blinkit's small gesture just made my day. While ordering from the hospital, I saw this msg on Blinkit UI: We noticed your order is from a hospital. Sending you and your dear ones our warmest wishes. This is very a small thing they can ignore among thousands of customers, but this can lift up someone's mood who has been in hospital for the last few days. It's great to see companies go beyond transactions and show genuine care for their customers.”

The post was shared two days ago and pulled more than 11K reactions. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take.

“Have experienced this with Naturals Ice Cream. We like their Malai Khurma ice cream, but it only comes during Eid and Diwali. We discovered this when it was removed from their menu. I messaged them on Instagram, mentioning how much we love that ice cream and my wife was craving it. They replied that it’s only available for Eid and Diwali. We were disappointed, but the next day, they messaged us that a few stocks were available and for two days it would be in stock,” a user said.

“I remember ordering from Swiggy when I was in hospital at the time of restaurants getting closed. The owner of the restaurant called me and asked me to wait as there were no delivery boys. Someone from his restaurant will deliver the order on his way home,” added a second person. “Apart from goodwill gestures, there is a marketing strategy also. Through these small gesture messages, they want Word-of-mouth marketing,” added a second person.
