Cala The ‘I Go Meow’ Cat Passes Away: You don’t even have to be a cat person to come across the popular ‘I go meow’ cat, Cala, and the melodious ‘cat song’ that the feline made famous on all social media platforms. The cat garnered a huge fandom and turned into a sensation in the last few months. However, the fans were in for a shock when the sudden news of the feline passing away was announced on the cat’s Instagram handle. The cat, as per the post announcing the heartbreaking news, died of old age, embraced in the arms of the ‘people who loved her’.

For those unfamiliar, the ginger cat Cala was the voice behind the popular song ‘I go meow’, which only went further viral after a musician popular by the name ‘spaulrecords’ on Instagram, collaborated with the cat’s original clip. The final product turned into one of the most hit songs and one of the most shared cat memes.

As soon as the news began to float on social media, fans couldn't stop themselves from extending their condolences. Most called it an unfortunate event and prayed for the cat’s ‘peace’. From ‘RIP Cala’ to ‘I go meow’, people flooded the internet with their emotional goodbyes.

The video was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘Cala & Elizabeth’. The post was captioned, “Cala will live on forever thanks to all of you.” 

The video was then shared by a fan on X (formerly Twitter).

Taking to the internet, people extended their condolences.

“RIP to Cala the I Go Meow cat,” a user said.

“The ‘I go meow’ cat (Cala) has passed away and I’m absolutely devastated, rest in peace you funky little cat,” added a second person.

“RUN FREE IN KITTY PARADISE, CALA. Cala, the popular cat behind the ‘I Go Meow’ TikTok video has passed away,” commented a third user.

“I just found out that Cala, the ‘I Go Meow’ meme cat, passed away. Your fame was short-lived, but you will continue in our hearts. Rest in Peace, you lovely creature,” wrote a fourth person.

 

“The ‘I Go Meow’ cat Cala, has just passed away and my day is officially ruined. Her cute little videos always brightened up my day. I feel so sad,” added a fifth user.
