Viral Video: In yet another morally questionable incident that left people divided, a man was caught stealing from a temple. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera that was installed nearby. The matter, as per the post, unfolded at the Hanuman Tekri temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna, whereas the date of the matter could not be confirmed. Apart from the robbery at the temple itself, what made the incident viral was that the accused also folded hands before looting the temple. As soon as the video went viral, most people sympathised with the man, which did not sit well with the other half of the internet. The matter received divided reactions from social media.
The video went viral soon after getting shared. Most people chastised the man for robbing a temple, while the rest speculated possible emergencies that the man must be facing if he decided to rob a temple.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘ajeetkumarAT’. The post was captioned, “Now who will protect God? Dacoits have committed robbery in the Hanuman Tekri temple in Guna, Madhya Pradesh. First, they folded their hands and then took away all the jewellery.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled more than 1K views.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Fear and faith in God are also there in it, but these empty stomachs, greed, unemployment, all these things are probably outweighing the faith and fear,” a user said. “Whoever commits robbery shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine,” said the second.
“It has become a trend. I have seen 3 or 4 more videos like this of robbery, where they first pray and then steal. And shockingly people in the comments used to sympathise with these robbers. I DON'T KNOW, WHAT TO SAY!” added another. “What's the use of folding hands and then doing wrong work?” asked another.
