Viral Video: Putting the safety and security of people under the scanner in the city, a video of a robbery at gunpoint was caught on a shop’s CCTV camera in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. The CCTV footage was shared on social media, which then went viral almost instantly. As per the viral post, 4 robbers looted the said grocery shop at gunpoint, where they ended up stealing a gold chain and cash worth lakhs. The incident reportedly unfolded on August 09 at around 9 PM. As soon as the footage began to do rounds on the internet, netizens were quick to comment on it, and a majority demanded action against the matter.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SachinGuptaUP’. The post was captioned, “Watch the CCTV footage of robbery at a shop in Haridwar- 4 miscreants entered a grocery shop. Held the shopkeeper at gunpoint. Looted a gold chain and cash worth lakhs.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled more than 9K views from people.

Any update on this incident?” a user said. “Now how can an unemployed man feed himself and his family?” joked a second person. “The thieves left after doing everything peacefully, did the police take cognizance or not,” added another.

“Uttam Pradesh is now two steps ahead of Ram Rajya,” added a third person. “You should take care of your own safety. The law and order situation is bad now. The criminals have the courage to commit robbery in broad daylight. Perhaps they are not afraid of the police,” added a fourth person.
