Delhi Mother Viral Video: No parent wants to watch their child struggle for every breath, but that’s exactly what one Delhi family is facing today. A mother, Sakshi Pahwa, has gone viral after posting a heartbreaking video showing how the city’s toxic air has slowly taken over her young son’s life. Sakshi says their move to Delhi two years ago felt normal at first, until it turned into constant breathing issues. What seemed harmless quickly became a daily battle, with her child struggling to breathe, sleep, or even stay comfortable.
In the emotional clip she uploaded, her little boy can be seen crying on a hospital bed as doctors try to help him breathe properly. Through the entire ordeal, Sakshi sits beside him, talking softly, gently patting him, or trying to distract him with tiny gestures just to keep him calm. She revealed that her son "kept getting affected due to continue allergies from dust and pollution." Even after months of trying "steroid sprays, antibiotics, homeopathy," nothing changed. The rising pollution only made his condition spiral.
Things took a frightening turn when his "adenoids and tonsils" reached "stage 4," a point Sakshi calls "the scariest point." Doctors finally told the family there was no other choice; surgery was the only option left. Her son had to go through both nose and throat surgery. Sakshi painfully recalled, "He had to undergo nose and throat surgery. Seeing him on the hospital bed in a huge pain after surgery broke our heart."

Her frustration spilled over when she asked why nothing is being done for children suffering because of pollution. "This is the reality of Delhi NCR kids. But the government still stays silent. We pay taxes and this is what our children get back from the system."

Her caption further summed up her frustration and fear as a parent, "Delhi NCR pollution didn’t just affect the air we breathe… it pushed my little one into surgery. Two years ago, we shifted here, and from that day chronic cold, cough, nonstop allergies and breathing issues began. No medicine worked; only pollution kept getting worse. As parents, watching him cry in the hospital broke us in ways words can’t explain. We pay taxes… and this is what our kids get in return. It’s time to speak up."
The video has sparked an emotional wave online, and many people expressed sympathy for the child, while others voiced anger at authorities for failing to control pollution that is harming so many young lives. "Meanwhile, our govt is busy changing the names of metro stations. Really sad that we have to face this. Please take care," a user wrote. "Only a massive protest can save our country from pollution," a second user wrote.
"May god bless him with good health. And for those who are saying it's not because of pollution, please go and visit hospitals. Mostly kids and older people are getting more sick due to this toxic air," wrote a third user. "When I was in Delhi, I was breathing on an inhaler. Daily nebulizer and even after that, I was not able to breathe. Thankfully, I got to work from home, and I shifted to Himachal Pradesh. Within a few years, I will have no breathing issues, no more inhaler dependent. I would suggest you try to be away from Delhi. Air is not at all breathable," added a fourth user.
