In a world where quick calls, texts, and emails are the way to go, a young design aspirant took a ‘visit’ back to the old-school methods and successfully grabbed everyone's attention. Taking to social media, Swiggy’s Assistant Vice President of Design Saptarshi Prakash shared about a ‘physical letter’ that he received from the said design aspirant. Opening up about his idealisation towards Prakash and his work at Swiggy, the aspirant basically asked for a chance to work with him through the letter. The letter also talked about a ‘concept’ that the aspirant had developed that could benefit the brand. Lauding the candidate's efforts, Prakash appreciated his out-of-the-box thinking and asked him to drop an email.

The Swiggy employee then went ahead and urged other employees in the same field to consider the applicant as Swiggy currently had no role for the candidate. The post was quick to go viral as not only the candidate impressed the Swiggy employee but also the internet. Some liked the idea while the rest pointed out that the company could have tried arranging an interview with the candidate.

The post was shared on LinkedIn, by the handle Saptarshi Prakash. The post read, “Something unusual happened last week. I got a call from Swiggy's front desk saying I had received a letter. This was a bit unusual because I don't remember giving out my office address for any correspondence. Yesterday, since it was a work-from-office day, I went and picked up the letter.”

“To my surprise, it was from a design aspirant reaching out to me. Yes, a physical letter—delivered to my office and personally addressed to me. It was from a designer eager to join Swiggy. Not only that, the person claimed to have developed a concept that could benefit our- ongoing efforts to enhance user experience,” the post further read.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “I'm afraid I have to disagree with the ‘slight breach of privacy’ part, as he did mail you at the office, which isn't private, given the situation where all the data is publicly available,” a user said. “Now, if they had only sent a box of sweets along with the letter. I've read stories of people putting their CVs inside a box of donuts and sending them to prospective employers,” added another.

“Going to market to bring 10-20 envelopes now. Will start with Tim Cook,” added a third person. “Could have given the job instead of publicising this,” added a fourth user. “He’s got your contact number and probably knows your email too – I bet his biggest challenge now is just finding a chair near your desk!” added another.
