A warning mail for an employee by the HR department is never something that gives any kind of pleasure to the receiving party. But then comes the type of emails that can single-handedly divide many, based on the ‘intentions’ behind them- which is kind of what happened with this ‘warning mail’ to a woman employee. Taking to social media, a man shared about a warning email that his friend received from HR. The mail was about the HR complaining against the woman’s use of non-work related websites like Netflix, AJIO, Naukri.com and more, during work hours. The mail also accused the woman and her friend of taking sugar pouches and other office belongings to the home.

The post, after being shared, went viral and left the internet divided. Some sided with the employee and dubbed the email an ‘attack’ on one’s personal life and image, while the rest advocated for HR’s actions and called the email ‘straightforward’ and ‘correct’.

The post was shared on LinkedIn, by the user ‘Sumit Mishra’. The post read, “One of my friends received a warning from her HR for using Instagram during work hours.” The post was shared two days ago and pulled many reactions.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “This reflects the pettiness of company HR and also shames employees. What if before writing an email or viewing the camera recording, HR would have deemed it fit to call both of them for a one-on-one session? Who has made a laughing stock of whom? any guesses!” a user said.

“How do you get away with not disclosing the fact that this post is an #Ad and is #sponsored by that capitalized company name?” added a second person. “That's a tough situation. It's good that they communicated their concerns clearly. Maybe it’s a chance to revisit how to balance personal time and work. Hope it gets sorted out smoothly!” added a third person.

“Such clear communication and highly required as well! The company provides a salary for working, not for our extra curricular activities.. and to steal company property, is showing a poor mindset!” added another.
