When it comes to online shopping, people these days can order anything and everything all day and everyday. From food deliveries to fulfil that late-night craving to the dresses and clothes that can reach your doorstep in hardly 10 to 30 minutes, the online delivery and shopping system is surely a ‘life saviour’ for many. Keeping that in mind, it's only natural that people at a housing society went crazy with their online shopping for the upcoming festive season. However, the otherwise normal shopping pattern turned into a nightmare for the said society's poor security guard, who was facing hindrances in his daily work due to receiving countless parcels. Addressing the same, a notice was issued by the society’s president, who asked people- especially from the F Block- to either minimise their orders or hire their own security guard.

Needless to say, a picture of the said notice was quick to go viral on social media, as people began to share their 2 cents on the move.

Most people found the notice somewhat funny but still agreed with the request, while the rest were in disbelief that people were ordering that much. The majority also chastised residents for getting the security guard involved over such personal issues. As per what was seen in the notice, it was issued yesterday, September 18. The decision was made after the security guard ended up putting forward the complaint about the same.

The X post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘upshagunn’. The post was captioned, “SOCIETY PRESIDENTS ARE INSANE! My cousin’s building got a warning for receiving too many parcels in a day.” The post was shared yesterday and pulled 480K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “They have a point. In India, we think that a security guard is the sole in charge of everything. Don’t treat him like your baggage collector,” a user said. “That is a reasonable request. Who gets 10-15 parcels a day?” wrote a second person. “Society president just before writing this letter- atma ram tuka ram bide,” added another.

“Imagine hiring a security guard for receiving online orders,” commented a fourth person. “There is nothing wrong in that request. How much effort does it take to be more thoughtful in a community living setup? What if they start asking them to come to the gate to collect their orders rather than allowing the delivery person in?” added another. “easily the best society president in the world,” added another.
