Gen Z Employee Leave Email: Creating a typical Gen Z moment yet again on the internet, this young employee’s ‘Seedhi Baat - No Bakwas’ type leave application went viral on social media. Taking to the internet, a manager shared a picture of a Gen Z employee’s mail regarding a leave. Needless to say, the leave was a bit too ‘to-the-point’, to the level that it gained major attention in the eyes of not only the boss but also the netizens. “Hi Siddharth, I will be on leave on 8th Nov 2024. Bye,” the mail read, whereas the subject read, “Leave on 8th Nov.” This is not the first time that a Gen Z made ‘waves’ on the internet over something ‘debatable’.
For the recent incident, many called the mail apt and how ‘it should be’ for most companies, while the rest chastised the employee for lacking ‘formal language’.
The Gen Z post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘siddharthshahx’. The post was captioned, “How my Gen Z team gets its leaves approved.”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “And if I had sent this message to my manager, he would have scheduled a meeting with HR to discuss my behaviour issues,” a user said. “The best part is they tell you they are on leave and don't ask,” added a second person. “It's a spot-on message tho. But should have used least an AI to make it look good and formal,” added another.
“One of my Gen Z team members suddenly declared 1 week leave. It was a critical time of the project so I tried to reason. He did not budge. The leave was because he had a breakup and he wanted to go to the mountains to forget the breakup,” added another. “I would have added- Thanks for understanding,” added another.
