As the film ‘Ghoomer’ hit the theatres today, cricketers including Virendra Sehwag and Harsha Bhogle shared their views on the film. The two watched the film and gave their reviews on the social media site X (formerly Twitter). The X posts went viral as they left the netizens divided. While some people agreed to watch the film on their recommendations, others dubbed it a paid promotion.

Virendra Sehwag posted his review on his official X handle and captioned it, “Really enjoyed watching the film #Ghoomer . Cricket , Inspiration aur Emotions bhar bhar ke hain. Apne Aasoon leke jaana theatre main. Yeh hain mera #GhoomerReview.”

Sharing his experience, Sehwag said that he loved how the film was a blend of cricket and emotions that a cricketer goes through. He also revealed that he is not exactly a fan of spinners and never listened to his coaches, but he loved Abhishek’s work in the movie. The former cricketer then urged the people to watch the film as it has the potential to inspire many.

His review went viral and people had all kinds of reactions to it. Some respected his view and agreed to watch the film, while others called it a paid promotion. “Paid tweet done by sehwag,” a user said. “Veeru paaji ne bol diya bas baat khatam (Must be true if he is saying it),” added a second. “Veeru is always great. Sure Sir we will wath this movie,” wrote a third. “Sir ji, is tweet ke kitne charge kiye? (How much did you charge for the tweet?)” another asked.

Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle also took to his social media handle to share his review of the film. "Was intrigued by a cricket film #GhoomerInCinemas which had people I knew @SaiyamiKher @Imangadbedi @juniorbachchan and made by Balki. Particularly by how they would do the cricket parts. Some thoughts on the film #Ghoomer," the tweet read.

The netizens reacted to his review. "Sir, almost a movie review? Bas ek cheej bacha hai, Kitte stars?? (You left out the stars, how much will you give?)," a user said.

The film 'Ghoomer' was released today, August 18. The film has been directed by R Balki and starred Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher as the main leads. The film is about a paraplegic sportsperson who revived her career with the help of her alcoholic coach.
