Impressing HRs and office seniors is one thing, and impressing the CEO of the company you are applying for as an intern, just to get a chance for an INTERVIEW, is a whole different thing. Well, no matter how insane it sounds, it actually did happen. Yes, a candidate caught the eye of Matthew Parkhurst, CEO of Antimetal Cloud, by his interactive SITE that he built to pitch his CV. The fact that the site was created simply to get a ‘chance’ for an interview, further made it sound something bizarrely genius. From FAQs and slide decks to links to his strava and even easter eggs, the candidate’s impressive site had it all.
Sharing the same on social media, Parkhurst lauded the man’s out-of-the-box thinking and efforts. The post understandably went viral, and left people impressed and shocked at the same time.
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘mprkhrst’. The post was captioned, “Someone built an entire site to apply as an intern at Antimetal. Has a video, FAQ, slide deck, link to his strava, easter eggs.. even uses our fonts. Masterclass on how to get an interview.”

The post immediately went viral and left people impressed. A majority were surprised seeing the efforts, especially when the prize was an interview, while the rest dubbed it a ‘brilliant idea’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 193K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “His strava will show you everything you need to know,” a user said. “The Strava link as well is just incredible,” added another. “I like how somebody does something insane and the ceiling is the interview,” commented a third person. “Do you prefer this over a cold email outreach?” asked another. “This brought back good memories- Did this for stripe's climate team like 3 years ago when I was fresh out of college,” commented a fifth user.
“I did something similar for 37 signals and the recruiter didn't even open the link xD, got rejected,” added another. “So is this why my internship application was rejected?” joked another. “Ahh, this is high agency work! Love it when this happens,” added another. “This is super cool, I should instead try to do this to get an interview/ job lol,” wrote the next.
