Viral Video: Remember the concept of reserving school bus seats by placing bags, handkerchiefs, or bottles on them? Well, a woman in Telangana’s Mahabubabad, it seems, took the concept a ‘bit too seriously’, and tried to do the same on a public bus, as an ADULT. Yes, one of the women reportedly reserved her RTC bus seat by placing her kerchief on it. However, dismissing it as a mere childish tactic, another passenger simply took the seat over. And believe it or not, this thoughtless move by the latter turned into a full-fledged fight between the two.

A video of the same was shared online, which went viral overnight. Most people were left upset over the rapid increase of similar incidents relating to free bus seats. The date of the incident could not be confirmed, whereas, as per the viral post, the clash was then intervened by their husbands, who reportedly slapped their wives to stop the brawl.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘eluguScribe’. The post was captioned in Telugu, which roughly translated to, “They were severely slapped for a seat in an RTC bus. Mahbubabad - A fight started between two women in an RTC bus coming from Thorrur to Uppal when one sat on the seat covered by a kerchief and the other went on till their husbands slapped them.”

Taking to the internet, netizens shared their views. “If we buy a ticket with money, we will not get a seat, but there are no seats. If we give a free journey on the bus for free, there will be such fights. That's why buses are not moving on from this free ticket incentive,” a user said. “This is just increasing on an everyday level. Every other day there are people fighting for either free seats or bus seats,” added another.

“Same situations are going to happen in Andhra Pradesh ..Hope authorities will be prepared for alternatives,” commented a third person. “Free bus scheme brought this kind of situation. It’s one of the worst schemes implemented by the government. I'm working in Bengaluru, here also the same situation wherever you go buses are always filled with passengers travelling without a fee. This scheme will definitely bring negativity for any kind of government,” added another.
