ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 Moon landing: August 23 will go down in Indian history for more reasons than one. The country achieved a major feat after it successfully landed Chandrayaan 3 on the Moon’s South Pole and became the first and the only country to do so. Further, India's space agency ISRO made a record on YouTube as the live streaming of the landing became the most viewed live stream with 8.06M views on the same day. The ranking was shared on the internet and instantly went viral as the Indians celebrated another feat. ISRO’s Vikram Lander Module soft landed on the Moon’s surface at 6:04 PM.

The rankings were shared on social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘The World Ranking'. The post was captioned, "Most Viewed Live Streams on YouTube 1. ISRO Chandrayaan3: 8.06 Million 2. Brazil vs South Korea: 6.15 M 3. Brazil vs Croatia: 5.2 M 4. Vasco vs Flamengo: 4.8 M 5. SpaceX Crew Demo: 4.08 M 6. BTS Butter: 3.75 M 7. Apple: 3.69 M 8. Johnny Depp v Amber: 3.55 M 9. Fluminense vs Flamengo: 3.53 M 10. Carioca Champ. Final: 3.25 M."

The post showed the rankings of the most viewed live streams and ISRO's Chandrayaan3 Moon landing was on the top with 8.06M views by the people. SpaceX Crew Demo was in the fifth position with 4.08M views. Popular K-pop boy band BTS also bagged a spot with their song 'Butter' in the sixth position with 3.75M views. Most of the positions in the list were clinched by football match live streams.

The X post went viral and its comment box was flooded with Indians expressing pride over ISRO's historic feat. Others called the live stream's views a major record in itself. The post was shared on August 23 and has pulled a whopping 2M views from the netizens.

Taking to the comment section, the people shared their views. "Wait. Did #Chandrayaan3 just make a world record for the most watched live stream as well," said a user. "We Indians are no. 1," added a second. "India made records today, except for the YT stream record, India broke that to make another high!" pointed out a third. "Historic event, historic records!" commented a fourth. "When India aims for the moon, the world stops to watch! Leading the pack and outshining even the global giants. Proud of ISRO’s #Chandrayaan3 for not just reaching the moon but also our hearts!" said a fifth. "Chandrayaan 3 reached for the stars and achieved an impressive 8.06 million viewers. India’s space endeavors continue to captivate the world!" lauded another.

After the mission, the country has also become the fourth to land on the Moon after the US, Russia, and China. ISRO's Moon landing mission was launched on July 14 from Andhra Pradesh's Satish Dhawan Space Centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually attended the event from South Africa's Johannesburg.
