Criticism is vital. In fact, it is undeniably one of those external factors that directly or indirectly helps a person in enhancing their performance in almost anything and everything. However, not always does this criticism lands the correct way, and a LinkedIn user learned the same the hard way. Prakriti Sharma, an AI Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, also the said LinkedIn user, expressed her critical take on a post shared by Mamaearth’s founder, Ghazal Alagh. The said post was on her take on pregnancy and a woman's professional life during pregnancy. The said LinkedIn post basically celebrated the strong pregnant women ‘working passionately and getting results’.

Alagh's post was shared on LinkedIn, where she also posed for the lens, showing her baby bump. However, resharing the same, Sharma chastised the Mamaearth founder for ‘not focusing’ on her unborn baby’s ‘well-being’, and instead ‘prioritising’ a photo shoot for the ‘world to see’.

“I find it absolute nonsense that a pregnant lady would prioritise a shoot for the external world to see, over her own child's well-being. Posting about being stupid and harsh on herself during pregnancy and seeking validation for the same from the internet makes it even awful to watch. Ladies pls be mindful about who you look up to & do not follow any bullshit advice served on the internet,” Sharma’s post read.

“You are pregnant, you should take it slow- I have heard this from friends and relatives multiple times, and when the Shark Tank India opportunity came my way. To address this tag I decided to take up the opportunity while I was in my 8th month of pregnancy and shoot 12 hours a day along with others. My goal was to inspire others and break this prevailing myth, especially amongst men, that women become less active or capable during this phase of their lives,” read Alagh’s LinkedIn post.

“This year 4 managers in my innovation team are pregnant and we have taken the highest revenue goal on innovation. We are confident we will not only deliver the babies but also over-deliver on our goals. We are there for each other whenever one needs support,” it further read.

However, the entire thing backfired, as netizens came in support of Alagh and her photoshoot while also criticising Sharma. “I have worked throughout my pregnancies t and actually also gone for jungle safari, snorkeling and multiple outings. Know of enough women who continued to run, as adviced by their docs. It's best to understand your capabilities, your body and your medical conditions rather than limiting yourself for an absolutely natural phenomenon of life,” a comment read.
