One must be living under a rock if all they know about Zomato these days is the online food delivery app’s coupons and such services, as the thing that is actually making the brand dominate the headlines is the recently shared ‘hiring pitch’ for a vital position at the company by the app’s CEO. Confused? Well, Deepinder Goyal, Zomato’s CEO, recently shared an interesting hiring pitch for the position of Zomato’s Chief Of Staff. From empathy to hunger, the skill requirements were rather rare for a company to ask for from the candidates. The pitch also received its fair share of backlash as it talked about the candidate needing to give Rs 20 lakh to get the position. Regardless of the chaos, Goyal received more than 10,000 applications before the given time slot ended.

Most applications and their cover letters- for obvious reasons- remained undisclosed- except for this one! A man took to his social media to share his cover letter that he also sent to Goyal, which went viral quite fast. Needless to say, the internet found the letter too quirky- to the point that they dubbed it impressively engaging.

The post was shared on LinkedIn, by the handle ‘Surya Pasricha’. The post read, “Deepinder Goyal Sir- PFA my cover letter. Zomato. Agar apko swaad nahi aya toh beshak mera naam badaldena..I wouldn't mind!!” The post was shared a few days agoand pulled more than 1K views from people.
