Viral Video: Mostly, when a rider or scamming customer goes viral on social media over not paying the fare for a ride, people advocate for the driver. After all, not paying for a service received is a crime. However, this man who did the same, instead left the social media divided as many believed that the man did the correct thing by not paying his cab driver. Confused? A video was shared online, where an Ola driver was seen accusing a man of not paying for the ride after the driver’s car broke down midway. The clip was quick to go viral, where people were left with mixed reviews. Some believed that the man did the correct thing, while the rest pointed out that the car breaking down was not the driver’s fault. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed.

The Ola driver video, after getting shared, pulled all kinds of reactions. Most people sided with the driver and pointed out that the customer could have asked for a refund from the company instead of the poor driver, while the rest advocated for the man saying that he never reached his destination. Many also suggested paying half the fare or fare based on the distance covered.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Kalesh b/w a Cab driver and Passenger over not paying the bill for Half-Ride.” The video was shared three days ago and pulled more than 507K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The fare should have been paid as per the distance travelled and the company should have provided another vehicle to the customer,” a user said. “The driver is also helpless; if his vehicle breaks down, the passenger should honestly pay the driver the fare till where he reached,” added another.

“Imagine I take a taxi to a house at the top of hills. The driver stops at the bottom and demands partial payment, leaving me stranded. On top of that, no other taxi will take me for the rest of the journey! This happened to me. So before making judgments, understand the full story from both sides!” added another.
