Indian Railways Viral Video: In yet another incident highlighting the swelling numbers of pickpockets in the country, a man was allegedly caught stealing phones and wallets in the Indian Railways’ train. However, taking the matter into their own hands, the train passengers seemingly decided to serve ‘justice’ to the matter as they began to beat up the man on the spot with a slipper. A video of the said passengers beating the man, who was shirtless at that point in time, was shared on the internet, which went viral. Apart from the accused begging for mercy, a few passengers were also seen smiling in the clip. The date and the exact location of the matter could not be confirmed.
As soon as the clip went viral, people began to react. Most found the incident ‘justified’, while the rest were more curious about the absence of the shirt. Some also shared jokes about the reaction a few passengers gave, and some were concerned about the increasing number of such thefts.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Kalesh inside Indian Railways (Passengers beats up a guy who was caught stealing mobile phones and wallet).”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Make sure to give him a good lesson so he'll even think twice about buying a mobile phone and wallet in the future with his money,” a user said. We are eager to give justice in some cases. Thieves are a priority,” commented a second person.
“Beware of pickpockets, because they are everywhere,” added a third user. “Indians are good at instant mob justice,” added a fourth netizen. “This service should not stop until the last stoppage of the train arrives,” commented a fifth person. “I once caught a thief on the railway. Handed over to railway police. But the thief was saying. Jitna marna maar lo par police ke pas mat do. (You can beat me as many times as you want, but do not give me to the police),” added another.
