Prime Minister Narendra Modi is often praised for his sharp and unique style, and once again, a small detail on his wrist has grabbed big attention. This time, it’s not his kurta, jacket, or colourful turban; it’s a special watch that people can’t stop talking about. The watch he was seen wearing recently is not just another accessory. It has a real one-rupee coin from 1947 placed inside its dial, making it instantly unique. The coin is rare and holds historic value because it was among the last coins minted under British rule.
The timepiece comes from the Jaipur Watch Company and is named Roman Baagh. It features a tiger symbol on the front, representing India’s strength and echoing the spirit of 'Make in India'. The watch is priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 60,000.
Built with a 43 mm stainless steel case, the watch runs on Japanese Miyota movement and has sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating. It comes in four versions, golden or silver cases paired with either Roman or Devanagari numerals. It also has a see-through back and is water-resistant up to 5 ATM.

He wrote, “In a time when the spirit of swadeshi is rising again, seeing the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji, choose an India-made timepiece created by us at Jaipur Watch Company set off a wave none of us anticipated.” He added, “For years, Indian luxury was considered a myth. Today, it is a talking point. Very soon, it will be a legend.”
