A casual momo order during Navratri ended up being a nightmare for a pure vegetarian man after the juicy momos that he received through the online food delivery app came in a box that read ‘non vegetarian’ on its seal. Narrating the incident on social media, the man instantly wrote about the mix-up and called it a ‘big mistake’. The man’s now-deleted post was quick to draw criticism. However, as the matter escalated, it turned out to be a result of a huge confusion.
As soon as the post went viral, the food outlet, Wow Momo, reached out to the man, and clarified that it was just the seal that read ‘non veg’. Meanwhile, the momos themselves were ‘vegetarian’. It was later revealed that since the outlet ran out of the ‘vegetarian’ seal, they instead used the ‘non vegetarian’ seal, and forgot to inform the customer. The customer, on the other hand, did not open and check the food once he saw the tape reading ‘non vegetarian’ and shared the mix-up on social media thinking he had received non veg momos.
The momos were ordered from the food giant Wow Momo, while the online order was placed through Zomato. The previous post that blamed the outlet has now been deleted. It was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘guptaakash264’. The post read, “Hello @Wowmomo4u , @zomatocare @zomato , I'm purely vegetarian and I ordered veg things but I got all nonveg items from your outlet, and the bad things are Navratri going on how you can make this big mistake, there is clearly mention item detail.”
Later, the man shared a fresh post updating about the incident. “@Wowmomo4u @zomatocare hey wow momos and Zomato care , I got solution of my problem that I had last night with wow momos outlet from selaiyur , that's really great to solve customer problems on the ground level , I really appreciate effort by Mr. Anand (operation manager). Thank,” the post read.

“Sir, glad we could find a resolve. It's a commitment from our end to coach our ground staffs on the importance of using the right sticker. It's indeed a wow feeling to have won back your trust,” wrote Wow Momo in response.

The previous post went viral and received all kinds of reactions. Most people criticised the food delivery app and the food outlet from where the man ordered momos, while the rest suggested the man to at least open the box and check first.

Taking to the comment section of the previous post, people expressed their anger. “Maybe they made a mix-up in the tapes? Did you check if it was actually nonveg? Maybe it was just tape. But then I understand if you didn't want to take any risk. Also, feeling sad for you,” a user wrote. “I feel like during festivals like these, to avoid any kind of risk, it’s better to not order food online. Mix up and such things are human errors and human errors are something that can happen with anyone. So for less risk, just maybe avoid ordering online food while fasting or during Navratri,” wrote a second person.
“This is just too much. Such a mix-up during Navratri is a huge mistake. These people should take these things seriously,” added a thyroid person.
