Raksha Bandhan 2023: Indians are celebrating one of the most-preached Hindu festivals, Raksha Bandhan, today, August 30, and the internet is full of festive content related to the same. From gift ideas to Mehndi designs, the festival has taken over the internet. Amid all this, a particularly clever yet beautiful Mehndi design is doing rounds on social media. A video of a QR code Mehndi design surfaced online and left people amused, making it go viral.

Raksha Bandhan is a traditional Hindu annual festival that celebrates the bond between siblings. The holy ceremony requires the sister to tie a holy thread called ‘Rakhi’ or ‘Raksha Bandhan’, around the wrist of her brother. Gifts are also exchanged as part of the rite.

The video was shared by the Instagram handle 'yash_mehndi’. The post was captioned, “From now on, payment for Rakhi will be done online.”

The video showed a beautiful Mehndi design with a QR code in the middle. The QR code was surrounded by other traditional designs. The video then showed a phone that scanned the code, leading to the payment app PayTm. In the background of the clip, a woman was heard assuring her brother that the QR code would work. In the end, the working QR code left the brother amused.

Later in the post, the user also cleared that the payment part was recorded just for fun as the code does not actually work. The caption further read, “It’s just content I edited this payment transaction screen recording with my mehndi video to make it real but maybe the mehndi QR code can not be used for payments It’s just for fun.”

The video went viral and garnered all kinds of reactions from the netizens. Most of the people were impressed by the design idea and even decided to go for the same, while others pointed out that the clip was a combination of two differently recorded videos.

Taking to the comment section, the people shared their views. “Are phone me video chalu hai (A video is being played on the phone),” a user pointed out. “For a second I felt kya artist hai mehendi wala then I realised it's a video,” said a second netizen. “Trust me I thought technology m yeh agaya bht then reading caption makes me fine,” added a third. “Haha… mind-blowing,” added a fifth user. “I was thinking about what to make this rakhi You gave me the best idea,” commented a sixth. “Kon kon screenshot kar ke scan kar raha hai (Who all are scanning it to test the code?),” asked another.
