LinkedIn is one of the most popular and preferred social media platforms that people often come to when it comes to their professional updates. From job switches to work achievements, the platform is full of posts where people talk about their professional lives. Doing something similar, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes took to his LinkedIn handle for an unexpected update. Sharing a picture of him shirtless attending a meeting while also getting a massage, the CEO went on to hail and commend the Indonesian and AirAsia culture. However, the reactions that he received turned out to be different than how he imagined, but not surprising for the rest of the people. Hard criticism took over Fernandes’ post as people began to dub the practice unprofessional and uncalled for, for a platform like LinkedIn.
The post was shared on the social media platform LinkedIn by the official handle of the Capital A CEO. The post was captioned, “Was a stressful week and Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage. Got to love Indonesia and AirAsia culture that I Can have a massage and do a management meeting. We are making big progress and I have now finalized Capital A structure. Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and never have lost sight of the finish.”
The post, ever since it was posted, has been doing rounds on social media as people have bombarded it with their reactions. Most netizens found the update highly unprofessional and chastised the man for promoting such a work culture, while others expressed their disbelief over the fact that something like this was shared on a professional platform like LinkedIn. The post was shared a day ago and has received reactions in hundreds.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “I had to see the actual post on LinkedIn to believe it..didn't trust the insta meme page,” a user said. “I took my shirt during a management meeting and got fired,” said the next person. “I came here from Twitter to see if this is actually real... It is. Tony please stop and delete this,” said a third person. “Inappropriate and simply disgusting,” joined a fourth person. “Appalling indeed. This has nothing to do with the Indonesian culture. May be has to do with the lack of culture at AirAsia . This is one of the really disgusting updates on LinkedIn in a while,” added a next. “What kind of example you are setting for generations to come and even for those who look up to you, I don't think it's appropriate to have an official meeting in such a manner,” said a sixth netizen.
