The results for JEE Main 2024 session 2 were announced on April 24, yet all that everyone could talk about was that ONE student, who somehow not only allegedly managed to cheat during the exam, but also topped with a ‘shiny’ first rank. Yes, the candidate scored an impressive 300 out of 300. Dramatically enough, the claims of this alleged cheating were made by another topping student with a perfect score, from whom the former apparently cheated. Taking to social media, the accuser narrated the incident which went viral. However, the post later was deleted.

According to the now deleted post, the cheater was sitting beside the accuser and copied the answers for all 75 questions. The other reason why the entire claim was triggered, was because the cheater allegedly confessed to cheating after the exam was over. The two also exchanged their contracts, only to later find out that both ended up scoring the same. As per the now deleted post, the accuser also pointed out that the accused only scored around 5 percentile or so in his previous session, which further fueled the suspicions.

The incident is going viral and has left people divided. The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle’umedpratapsingh’. The post was captioned, “It seems a boy scored 300/300 in JEE Mains just by copying a topper sitting beside him. Lol, What were invigilators doing?”

The post went viral and received a mixed reaction. Most people rejected the possibility of candidates being able to cheat in JEE exams, while the rest dubbed the story a ‘lie’. Meanwhile, a few others sympathised with the student and advocated for him by recalling similar incidents. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 191K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It is common in all exams, just payment is needed,” a user said. “As someone who gave such exams, sorry but it's not possible to copy anything,” wrote a second person. “It appears to be fake! The questions are jumbled up to make 4 sets of paper. And NTA has taken exams so many times that having the same set for adjacent students is impossible (due to algo)! Besides the guy will have to memorise at least 50-55 questions out of 75 again impossible!” wrote another.

“I can tell u guys another real story in 2k15 my friend cheated from our coaching topper in Jee Advanced and he got selected into it though he barely qualified for Jee Mains, That is the luck that only a lucky person gets, now he has selected in UPPSC but not this time by cheating,” added a third person. “I met people like him when I was doing my bachelor's. They regret it later because they won't be able to cope with the pressure of studies and keep failing,” added another.
