Believe it or not, gender reveal parties have turned into one of the most chaotic celebrations of all. From major fires to other life-threatening accidents, social media witnessed a questionable number of problematic results that took place because of these parties, as parents seemingly went overboard with the occasion.
However, considering the fact that India banned all methods that could ascertain the sex of an unborn child, the case became a bit different in the country. The act was implemented under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act. Regardless, Irfan, a Tamil YouTuber, had something else in mind.
Seemingly considering it somewhat of a loophole and a possible solution, the YouTuber instead did the same test in Dubai, where the practice is legal. He then threw a ‘Gender Reveal Party’, and revealed his unborn kid’s sex on YouTube. The video went viral and came to the notice of the Government, which promptly took action. The Tamil Nadu Director of Medical and Rural Health Services ended up sending a notice to the YouTuber, for the revelation, as per reports of the news agency ANI.
The party was hosted by the YouTuber and his wife. The video has now been deleted from the social media platform.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), ANI updated on the matter. “Tamil Nadu Director of Medical and Rural Health Services sends notice to YouTuber Irfan after he reportedly revealed the sex of his unborn child in videos posted on his YouTube channel. Tamil Nadu Director of Medical and Rural Health Services has also sent a letter to Cyber Crime to remove the video from YouTube. The YouTuber and his wife took the sex determination test in Dubai,” the said X post read.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “A new trend of YouTubers emerging,” a user said. “If this is a mistake as per the law, then immediate punishment should be given. People who follow the media wave and violate the rules, the punishment should be doubled for them,” added a second.
