Top 10 Most Expensive Rums In World: New Year is just two days away and people have all kinds of reasons to celebrate the big day as they will welcome 2024 with open arms. So amid all the celebrations, we thought to give a tip or two for the upcoming party. Also, our ‘tip’ is mainly for the alcohol lovers! So listen up alcohol enthusiasts, if you are looking forward to celebrating this New Year in style and are planning to burn a hole in your pockets in the process, then this one's for you. We found about some of the most expensive rums in the world, so you will know which bottle to open on this year’s December 31st celebrations! The list was compiled by ‘luxatic’.
Here are the top 10 most expensive rums in the world:
J Wray & Nephew
Originating in Jamaica, the most expensive rum in the world is the 1949 bottle of J Wray & Nephew, with a cost of $54,000. The drink was made in a bar that was opened in 1825, by a man by the name, yes you guessed it correct, Wray.
Legacy
The next on the list was made in the honour of the 50th independence anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago; Legacy. The 20 bottles, with a cost of $25,000, were launched in 2012.
1976 Dictador Generations en Lalique Rum
For the third one, not only is the liquor inside valued, but the container itself is also highly-priced. The next bottle is the 1976 Dictador Generations en Lalique Rum, which costs $16,500.
Barbados Private Estate 1780
The next on the list is perhaps one of the best that one can experience. This rum, Barbados Private Estate 1780, was distilled in 1780 and costs $12,700.
Appleton Estate 50-Year-Old
Another rum that was made in honour of a nation’s independence; Jamaica. Created in 1962, the Appleton Estate 50-Year Rum is a class in itself. The bottle costs $6,500.
Original Royal Naval Rum Tot
The next on the list is the iconic Original Royal Naval Rum Tot. With a cost of $2,900, this bottle of happiness stands at the sixth spot.
Bacardi Superior Rum
Another bottle that proudly sits on the list with a cost of $2,825, is from the 1940s and is Bacardi Superior Rum.
8-year-old Bacardi, Millennium Rum Atlantis Special Edition
Another on the list is the 8-year-old Bacardi from the Millennium Rum Atlantis Special Edition, with a cost of $2,800.
Ron Bacardi de Maestros de Ron Vintage, MMXII
The next on the list will make a hat-trick for Bacardi; Ron Bacardi de Maestros de Ron Vintage, MMXII. The bottle costs $2,050 and only 1000 bottles were made.

The last on the list is the famous Brugal Papa Andres rum, which was made in 2013. The bottle costs $1,500.
