UP Viral Video: Not trusting strangers and definitely not handing them over one’s vehicle keys is something that is not exactly rocket science. In fact, ‘stranger danger’ is one of the first things that kids are taught by their parents for their own good. However, it seems like this Varanasi woman learned the same lesson the hard way. Believe it or not, the said woman lost her scooty to a stranger after she herself handed the keys over to the said strange girl. The incident unfolded in Varanasi's Kabir Nagar, where the victim was reportedly approached by a girl in school uniform, saying that she needed to move her scooty aside. Judging the stranger innocent because of her attire, the woman reportedly ended up giving the scooty keys to the girl, only to find out she stole the scooty away.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera that was installed nearby, where the schoolgirl was seen starting the scooty and riding away. Rushing into action, the owner then filed an FIR, resulting in an investigation which is underway.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘tapan_s’. The post was captioned, “@myogiadityanath @CMOfficeUP @dgpup Kindly take urgent action on the theft of my friend Sarika's scooty in Varanasi. Requesting your intervention to resolve this at the earliest. Attaching the newspaper clip for reference. #Varanasi #UPPolice #Help.”

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Even if she's in school uniform how can she trust so easily?” a user said. “This proves the point again - Never believe anyone just from their look. It’s like the virus thinks one step ahead of anti-virus. Scammers are always innovative in their approach,” added a second person.

“Can’t trust anyone..really shocking,” commented a third user. “Did the owner think this was a fairytale land where anyone can be trusted?” joined a fourth person. “The woman likely thought she was helping a student in need, but instead, she became a victim of a clever ruse,” commented a fifth person.
