Happy Diwali 2024: Apart from festive vibes, excitement, and much-awaited gatherings that the festival of lights- Diwali- brings, it also brings the ever-famous ‘mithai’ Soan Papdi back into the limelight every year. From being called THE Diwali ‘mithai’ to being considered as the one that circulates during the festive season, Soan Papdi has multiple ‘reputations’ for a variety of reasons. Coming to Diwali 2024, for understandable reasons, as soon as the festive season began, Soan Papdi began to ‘trend’ as well. However, amid the popularity, an unexpected video came forward, which went viral in an instant. The clip showed some men making Soan Papdi in some questionable conditions. Needless to say, the video drew major and divided reactions.
The video began to do rounds on social media soon after getting shared. Most people found the process unhygienic, while the rest rather appreciated the hard work shown by the men. Regardless of how the sweet was being made, a majority still preferred Soan Papdi as their favourite Diwali ‘mithai’.
The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘manuguptafitness’. The post was captioned, “Our food is doomed.” The video was shared a few days ago and pulled more than 52K likes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Others only see the hygiene & I'm seeing their hard work. It might be painful for the hands...As I've arthritis so seeing this type of video gives me pain in joints I don't know why,” a user said. “I ate an entire box of sonpapdi today, from Haldiram.. how can I vomit it?” added another.
“However I will still eat sonpapdi,” added another. “It’s okay guys. Sonpapdi is still the love of every Indian,” added another. “One more shocking thing, the customer thinks that it is made up of Besan but 50% it is MAIDA, and only 20% is Besan,” added another. “Am I the only one who is thinking what is the problem??” added another.
