Viral Video: From the Indian Parliament’s top-tier security to the safety of politicians inside the Lok Sabha, some major concerns and questions skyrocketed soon after a major security breach took place inside LS today, December 13. Some protesters reportedly managed to set off coloured smoke canisters both inside and outside the Parliament at 1 PM. The entire thing became the talk of the day for all the wrong reasons. However, amid all the seriousness, some reporters managed to catch ‘literally’ every ‘eyeball on the air’ after their video of fighting over a smoke canister outside the LS went viral. The entire thing happened on national television, as the reporters were trying to report on the canister for their respective cameras and channels.
As soon as the incident went viral, the journalism industry, once again, became a laughing stock for the entire nation. What further confused everyone was the lack of ‘sensitivity’ towards possible ‘evidence’ at a severe crime scene. Meanwhile, the involved journalists themselves smiling during the entire incident did not help their narrative.
The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘NarundarM’. The post was captioned, “Security gayi tel lene, Indian media is fighting for smoke canisters.”

The video is going insanely viral as netizens left no opportunity to make satirical comments on the media personnel. Most called the Indian media a ‘joke’, while others compared the scenario with kids’ ‘birthday parties’. Many also chastised the involved reporters for ‘possibly tempering’ of the evidence. The video was shared today and pulled 655K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “We used to fight like this in birthday parties during cake distribution. but we were kids and these are adults... allegedly,” a user said. “It's all about TRPs for the media. Look at Pallavi Ghosh,” said the next user. “I believe that tuning into Indian TV news can have a detrimental impact on both physical and mental well-being,” added a next. “Shouldn't the canister be secured as EVIDENCE?? shouldn't it be used for Forensic analysis!?” added a next.
“Security is secondary, TRP comes first. Media doesn't even care if this smoke cannister is poisonous or not,” said another. “What a comedy show. Indian media is a joke,” added a next.
