Taking to the X (formerly Twitter), the official state handle of Israel shared the bad news, "We are devastated to share that the body of 23-year-old German-Israeli Shani Louk was found and identified. Shani who was kidnapped from a music festival and tortured and paraded around Gaza by Hamas terrorists, experienced unfathomable horrors."

The post further mourned her death by writing, "Our hearts are broken. May her memory be a blessing."

However, previously her mother had requested the German government to bring back her daughter, who she claimed was alive and in a Gaza hospital.
