Billionaire Elon Musk on Monday renewed his criticism of US President Donald Trump's sweeping tax-cut and spending bill, vowing to unseat lawmakers who backed it after campaigning on limiting government spending. After weeks of relative silence following a feud with Trump over the legislation, Musk rejoined the debate on Saturday as the Senate took up the package, calling it "utterly insane and destructive" in a post on social media platform X.

"Should hang their heads in shame!"

On Monday, he ramped up his criticism, saying lawmakers who had campaigned on cutting spending but backed the bill "should hang their heads in shame!" "And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth," Musk said. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO called again for a new political party, saying the bill's massive spending indicated "that we live in a one-party country the PORKY PIG PARTY!!" "Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people," he wrote.

Later, in a raising his voice, Musk shared a poster saying, "Anyone who campaigned on the PROMISE of REDUCING SPENDING , but continues to vote on the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY will see their face on this poster in the primary next year."

Musk has previously slammed the bill, describing it as a "disgusting abomination." "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it," he wrote in early June on X, according to The Hill.

On Saturday, Senate Republicans narrowly advanced the 1,000-page legislation to enact Trump's agenda, despite opposition from Senetors Rand Paul and Thom Tillis. Paul opposed a $5 trillion increase in the debt limit, while Tillis warned the bill would cost North Carolina USD 38.9 billion in Medicaid funding.

Musk also engaged in a public feud with Trump following his departure from the Trump administration, during which he called for the former president's impeachment and accused him of being linked to the files of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Amid mounting conservative dissent, Trump has urged Senate Republicans to overrule the chamber's parliamentarian to secure passage of key provisions in the sweeping domestic policy bill, The Hill reported.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump endorsed Republican Representative Greg Steube's call to bypass the Senate Parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, who recently ruled against including certain Medicaid cuts in the Senate version of Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill."
