At the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, leaders unveiled the Kananaskis Wildfire Charter, a comprehensive global plan to prevent, combat, and recover from wildfires. The Charter emphasises international cooperation, a whole-of-society approach, and actions to mitigate wildfire risks through awareness, adaptation, and resilience building. Endorsed by countries including India, Australia, Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea, the Charter aims to strengthen coordinated responses to growing wildfire threats worldwide.

At the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, leaders launched a Critical Minerals Action Plan aimed at building standards-based markets, mobilising capital, fostering partnerships, and promoting innovation. The plan emphasises collaboration in critical mineral research and development, focusing on processing, recycling, substitution, and circular economy strategies. The G7 also pledged to work with partner organisations to showcase new technologies and production methods.
