A London-based Sikh family has accused a series of violent assaults during the last two and a half years by a group of individuals they identify as "Pakistani goons." The couple complained that the Metropolitan Police have taken no concrete action despite having evidence, claiming interference by the city mayor, Sadiq Khan. Restaurant owner Harman Singh Kapoor and his wife shared their ordeal through social media videos, where they accused the London police of bias and inaction. Kapoor claimed that while trying to defend his family during the latest attack, he ended up being arrested for allegedly using a “racially aggravated” term.

On Friday evening, Kapoor tweeted, “Last night I called 999 after being assaulted by a group of Pakistanis. When Met Police arrived, one officer ran at me while others shouted, ‘Arrest him!’ My ‘offence’? I called a Pakistani… a Pakistani. They accused me of being ‘racially aggravated’, but not the actual attackers. This is policing under Sadiq Khan.” He also alleged that the term "racial aggravation" was wrongfully used, highlighting the irony of being arrested when alleged attackers went free.

'We Got Attacked, I Got Arrested,' Says Sikh Couple

Kapoor and his wife had claimed in a self-recorded video that the attackers broke into their private property and attacked them. “I tried to defend myself and my family. My wife called the police. I got arrested,” Kapoor said. “Because my name is not Khan and we are not terrorists,” he added. The husband and wife complained the police did nothing despite having strong evidence, such as addresses of the attackers, vehicle numbers, and phone numbers.

One of the most shocking things Kapoor accused was that photographs of his wife and daughter were leaked on the internet, followed by rape threats. When he told the police about it, he was reportedly informed that it comes under "freedom of speech." “People leaking the photos of my wife and daughter online and giving rape threats. The police say this is freedom of speech,” Kapoor said in the video. “Under whose instructions are the police doing this? It’s Sadiq Khan.” The woman accused Mayor Sadiq Khan of favouring his community, implying a communal bias in governance. “Yes, Sadiq Khan, it’s your instructions as the police are working under you,” she said. “If you’re serving only your community, then please resign right now. If anything happens to my family, only Sadiq Khan is responsible because he knows who is attacking us and supporting those criminals.”

The family allege they have been living in fear for more than two years, police cases being closed in 24 hours without adequate probe. The woman told, "We received rape and death threats. Police have everything but still don't do anything. They do not even respond to our complaints." The Metropolitan Police have not given an official statement regarding the couple's serious allegations up until now. There has also been no word from Mayor Sadiq Khan's office. The incident has created outrage on social media, with some users calling for accountability and action.
