Indian Advisory For Israel, Iran: Amid the heightened tensions in the Middle East, India on Friday issued an advisory to the citizens not to travel to both Israel and Iran till further notice, a Ministry of External Affairs notification stated. The Indians currently residing in both countries have been requested to contact Indian Embassies in Israel and Iran. According to the release, citizens were also requested to register themselves with the embassies. This came as Iran has warned Israel of severe consequences following a missile strike by the latter on Tehran's embassy in Syria.
The MEA advisory also asked Indians in these two countries to restrict their movements to a minimum and take maximum caution about their safety.
"In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indians are advised not to travel to Iran or Israel till further notice. All those who are currently residing in Iran or Israel are requested to get in touch with the Indian Embassies there and register themselves. They are also requested to observe utmost precautions about their safety and restrict their movements to the minimum," the advisory stated.
Israel Iran Conflict
The tensions in the Middle East further escalated after Israel launched a missile strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria almost two weeks ago. The strike killed seven high-ranking officials of the Iranian military. Following the strike, Iran vowed to take revenge, though, without naming the time and date of retaliation. The international community including the US, Russia and China had since then requested both sides to restrain from further conflict.

Experts worry that Iran's possible retaliation could escalate the ongoing conflict between Iran-supported Hamas militants and Israel in Gaza, which has lasted for six months. The U.S. has reached out to the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Iraq, asking them to persuade Iran to reduce tensions with Israel as part of its efforts to control the conflict.
