JE News Desk: A 33-year-old Indonesian bodybuilder and fitness influencer, Justyn Vicky died following a tragic gym accident in Bali, as reported by Channel News Asia. The incident took place on July 15, when the bodybuilder broke his neck while he was trying to squat-press 210-kilogram weight with a single spotter behind him at a gym in Bali.

In a video which surfaced online, Justyn Vicky can be seen at the Paradise Bali gym attempting a squat press with the barbell on his shoulders. The bodybuilder seems unable to stand upright after performing the squat, Channel News Asia reported.

As Vicky tried to hold the weight, he fell back into a sitting position as the barbell fell on the back of his neck. During the incident, Justyn Vicky's spotter appears to lose his balance and falls backwards with him. A spotter provides support during weight lifting. The bodybuilder was reportedly trying to lift 210 kilograms of weight.

The tragic accident left him with a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs, Channel News Asia reported citing a UK-based newspaper.

Following the incident, he was taken to the hospital for treatment, however, he passed away shortly after undergoing an emergency operation. Following his death, netizens paid tribute to him and the gym where he worked, Paradise Bali, described Vicky as a "beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support," as reported by Channel News Asia.

Taking to Instagram, The Paradise Bali wrote, "Justyn was more than just a fitness expert; he was a beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support." 

In another incident, a 24-year-old man died allegedly after being electrocuted while running on a treadmill at a gym in Delhi's Rohini area, a police official said on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Sakshan Pruthi, who was an engineer at a Gurugram-based firm. Pruthi, a resident of Rohini Sector 19, used to go to Gymplex Fitness Zone in Sector 15.
