Iran-Israel-US War: Amid the ongoing war in the Middle East region, Israeli fighter jets on Friday launched an attack on the underground military bunker in Tehran used by former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While sharing the footage on X (formerly Twitter), the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) stated that 50 fighter jets, guided by intelligence from Mossad, dismantled the facility. In its statement, the IDF asserted that the jets attacked the bunker beneath the Iranian regime's leadership compound.

The Israeli forces stated that the bunker was often used for the gathering of senior officials of the regime. "50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets dismantled Ali Khamenei’s underground military bunker beneath the Iranian regime’s leadership compound in Tehran," the IDF said.

"The underground bunker sprawled across entire streets in the heart of Tehran and included multiple entry points and rooms for gatherings of the senior officials of the Iranian terror regime," it added. As per the IDF, Iran spent several years to build this bunker to advance its military plans.

The facility was constructed to ensure a safe space for the gatherings of high-ranked officials. The IDF further stated that the bunker would have been used against Israel, the US, and its allies. It further stated that the latest operation will further weaken the Iranian forces and will affect their military plans.

Earlier on Friday, a report revealed that the Israeli government decided to eliminate Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as early as November 2025. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz revealed that the strategic objective was established during a high-level security meeting late last year.

"Already in November we were convened with the prime minister in a very tight forum and the prime minister (Benjamin Netanyahu) set the goal of eliminating Khamenei," Katz told N12 News. He further noted that the operation was originally scheduled for the middle of 2026.
