Viral videos claimed chaos and smoke at the Lahore Airport. However, later, the Pakistani Airport Authority (PAA) rejected the viral video and dubbed it as "old" one. In a statement released by the PAA, it said there was no fire at the airport and the airlines were operating as per normal conditions. It claimed that the video was originally published in May 2024 after a minor fire caused by a short circuit in the ceiling of the immigration counter.
"The airport operations at Lahore are proceeding smoothly without any disruptions. There has been no incident of fire or any other unpleasant occurrence at the airport on Saturday. All flights are operating as per schedule and passenger services remain unaffected," according to the statement released by the PAA.
"An old video from May 2024 was shared on social media when flight operations at Lahore airport were disrupted due to a minor fire caused by a short circuit in the ceiling of the immigration counter. There was no incident of any fire or flight cancellation on Saturday," it added.
