A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander has resurfaced in Pakistan, issuing provocative claims that global alignments are moving in Islamabad’s favour and leaving India isolated. Hafiz Abdur Rauf, a US-designated terrorist and close associate of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, appeared in a new video asserting that Pakistan is no longer diplomatically alone, India Today reported.
“Until yesterday, we were alone, and the whole world was with India. Today, the situation has changed,” Rauf said, claiming that Turkey now supports Pakistan and citing the recent visit of Bangladesh’s army chief to Islamabad as evidence of shifting alliances. He went on to declare the start of a “new era of the Mujahideen,” alleging that Pakistan is “winning” and that India has “learned its lesson.”
Funeral Prayers After Op Sindoor
Rauf had previously come under scrutiny after leading funeral prayers for slain terrorists in Muridke, reportedly in the presence of Pakistani Army officers. The funerals followed the destruction of terror hideouts during what Indian authorities described as Operation Sindoor.
Referring to developments in Bahawalpur and Muridke on May 6 and 7, Rauf claimed the phase had concluded, alleging that Pakistan delivered a decisive response on May 10 “with the help of Allah.” He further claimed India would not dare to strike Pakistan for the next 50 years.
Abu Musa Kashmiri’s Hate Speech
In a separate development, senior LeT terrorist Abu Musa Kashmiri triggered widespread outrage after delivering an incendiary speech at a public gathering in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). A video of the address, recorded in the Bahira village of Hajira tehsil in Rawalakot district, has gone viral on social media.
In the footage, Kashmiri is seen openly inciting violence against Hindus, declaring that the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through terrorism framed as “jihad.” Chants from the crowd included explicit calls to slit the throats of Hindus, drawing sharp condemnation for genocidal hate speech.
Claims Of Direct Access To Pakistani Leadership
During his address, Kashmiri claimed he had personally conveyed his extremist views to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior ministers. He is associated with the LeT-linked Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM).
Founded in 1985–86, Lashkar-e-Taiba is designated a terrorist organisation by the United Nations, the United States, the United Kingdom and several other countries. The group’s stated objective is to merge Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan through violent means and it operates training camps and front organisations, including Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a UN-designated LeT affiliate.
