A Spanish man has been arrested by the police after he inappropriately groped and touched a female journalist reporting live on TV in Madrid. The journalist identified as, Isa Balado, was doing a live PTC (piece to camera) when the man approached her from behind and inappropriately touched her.
The incident took place when the journalist was reporting on a robbery in Madrid for channel Cuatro, as reported by Sky News.
However, the journalist continued her reporting but the host of the TV channel, Nacho Abad, interrupted her asking ''Isa, forgive me for interrupting you… but did he just touch your butt?''.
After the journalist confirmed, the host of the show insisted she get the man on camera so that he could be identified. Later, she confronted the man, telling him that she had been trying to do her job.

However, the man refused he did anything wrong and walked away by touching her hair. The man stayed in the street and approached her again, saying he had heard the accusations and that she should ‘tell the truth’, as reported by Reuters.
As the video of the incident went viral on social media, the Madrid Police later arrested the man for sexually assaulting a reporter live on air.

In a message on X, formerly Twitter, the police said that the man was arrested for sexually assaulting a reporter live on air.

Mediaset Espana owns the channel for which the journalist works and the organisation also issued a statement in support of the journalist, calling the incident an ‘absolutely intolerable situation’. The incident comes amid massive outrage over the actions of president of FA president Luis Rubiales who kissed World Cup winner player Jenni Hermoso.
Spain's Labour Minister Yolanda Diaz condemned the incident and said the incident should not go unpunished. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, she wrote, "It's machismo that makes journalists suffer sexual assaults like this, and the aggressors are unrepentant in front of the camera."
