US-based TIME Magazine grabbed eyeballs after it released the December edition of the magazine, featuring the World's richest man and head of the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, on its cover. The title of the magazine's cover reads, "Citizen Musk: What's Next on His To-Do List?". The cover page also included an interesting checklist of Musk’s past achievements and future goals, along with his image.
Items like "Buy Twitter", "Launch rocket", and "Become richest man" were marked as done, while goals like "Fly to Mars" and "Slash $2 trillion" were left unchecked. However, Musk was quick to react to the magazine cover and refused to accept his "to-do list", claiming it was not his checklist.
Elon Musk, known for leading Tesla and SpaceX, and owning social media platform X (formerly Twitter), responded to the cover story on X and wrote, "To be clear, I have not done any media interviews and this is not actually my checklist. I am trying to make life multi-planetary to maximize the probable lifespan of consciousness. Some of the items below are needed for that."

Musk has been in the news for quite some time now, not because of his fortunes but due to his closeness and unwavering support for President-elect Donald Trump in the recently concluded US Presidential Elections. Musk has been actively involved in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, reportedly contributing over $100 million to support Trump’s bid.
Musk has also been appointed the head of the Department of Government Efficiency by Trump, who stated that Elon Musk and Ramaswamy will reduce government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut waste and restructure federal agencies. With the creation of this new department, Donald Trump stated that it would bring in external expertise and collaborate with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget.
In addition, Elon Musk claims he wants to reduce $2 trillion from the federal government's $7 trillion budget. The Space X founder and CEO also plans to fly the first uncrewed flights to Mars as early as 2026.
