A fiery social media clash has erupted between US President Donald Trump and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, marking a dramatic fallout between two of the most influential figures in American politics and technology. The feud, which began over a 4 trillion USD spending and tax bill, has escalated into a war of words involving federal contracts, personal insults, and shocking allegations tied to the unsealed Jeffrey Epstein files. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX went to his social media site on Thursday, saying, "Time to drop the really big bomb. @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT." He then posted a mysterious tweet, "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out." The post instantly went viral, triggering a political firestorm and pressure on US authorities to finally release the Epstein documents, long under wraps.
Epstein Files: What's In Them And Why It Matters
Financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein died in prison in 2019 while under indictment on federal charges of sex trafficking minors. Since Epstein's death, increasing speculation has surrounded the prominent names associated with him. Court documents have already mentioned several high-profile names, including former President Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, and Britain's Prince Andrew. Still, many documents are sealed or censored. Musk's bombshell tweet has now intensified public calls for the release of these files.
Trump Reacts: "I Never Was On The Plane Or Island"
Trump replied, denying any connection with Epstein in a strongly worded X post. “I was never on Epstein’s Plane, or at his ‘stupid’ Island. Strong Laws ought to be developed against AI. It will be a big and very dangerous problem in the future,” he said. His remark seemed to deflect attention from the charge while bringing up an unrelated warning about artificial intelligence, prompting confusion and criticism across social media. With Musk's assertions now bringing the Epstein files into the limelight, legislators and advocacy organisations are calling for the Department of Justice and the FBI to take swift action. Lawyers say that if Trump's name is found in the files, the political damage could be disastrous.
Trump also accused Musk of betrayal and “ingratitude,” citing the billions in government contracts that have supported Tesla and SpaceX over the years. In a fiery post, Trump warned, “We made him. We can unmake him. No more contracts for companies that attack America’s progress.” This public declaration sent shockwaves through political and business circles, as Musk’s ventures rely heavily on NASA and Department of Defense contracts.
