A retired Army National Guard officer and the head of India caucus, Mike Waltz, was appointed as National Security Adviser on Monday in Donald Trump-led new regime in the US, news agency AP reported. Waltz, who is a three-term Republican congressman from east-central Florida, is a staunch supporter of US President-elect Donald Trump.
He worked as a policy advisor at the Pentagon for two terms. Mike Waltz strongly rebuked China and called for a US boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, citing the latter’s ‘involvement’ in the Covid outbreak.

Mike Waltz serves as the co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, the largest bipartisan group in the House of Representatives dedicated to a specific country. This caucus focuses on strengthening ties between the world's two largest democracies. In his role, Waltz has actively promoted enhanced US-India defence and security cooperation.
Trump Expected To Pick Marco Rubio As Next US Secretary Of State
Trump is likely to appoint Senator Marco Rubio as his Secretary of State, the New York Times reported. If this happens, Rubico will be the first Latino to serve as the nation’s top diplomat.
This will be a key position to serve amid the US’ growing rivalry with China and Iran.
Elected to the Senate in 2010, Rubio has long advocated for a more assertive foreign policy toward America’s geopolitical rivals, including China, Iran, and Cuba. In recent years, he has adjusted some of his positions to align more closely with Trump’s views.
In a historic victory, the Republican Party secured a majority in the US House of Representatives on Monday, achieving a complete sweep of the White House and both chambers of Congress.
