Bajaj CNG Bike Launch Delayed: Bajaj Auto has announced a rescheduled launch date for its innovative CNG motorcycle, now set for July 17 instead of the previously mentioned June 18. According to a video interview by Evo India, this update comes directly from Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, who confirmed the new date. Sharma highlighted that the Bajaj CNG motorcycle is designed with the cost-conscious buyer in mind, yet it will not compromise on design. The bike will be available in multiple variants, offering consumers a variety of choices. Although specific power figures were not disclosed, Sharma indicated that the performance will be comparable to models in the 100-150cc range.

Bajaj CNG Bike - Dual-Fuel System 

Spy images of the Bajaj CNG bike have revealed a robust fuel tank that supports a dual-fuel system and will feature seamless switching between petrol and CNG, ensuring that the performance of the bike is not affected. A conveniently placed switch knob near the rider’s left leg facilitates easy fuel switching.

Bajaj CNG Bike - Design & Hardware

The bike is designed with an upright riding position, a single-piece handlebar with handguards, mid-positioned foot pegs, and a unified seat. Additional features include LED headlights, bulb indicators, a rear grab rail, engine-side leg guards, a sleek black exhaust, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The test bikes were equipped with telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, and a mix of disc and drum brakes, with potential safety features like single-channel ABS or Combi-braking.

Bajaj CNG Bike - Variants 

Previously, two distinct variants have been spotted - one with premium features such as a compact windscreen and sleek mirror stems and another with a rugged design featuring protective elements like handguards and a sump guard. Both variants have a streamlined exhaust and conventional alloy wheels.

Bajaj CNG Bike - Price 

The upcoming CNG Bike is expected to be priced between Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). It is poised to compete with popular models such as the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 110, providing a compelling option in the commuter segment.
