Korean automobile manufacturer Kia is all set to celebrate 'Kia EV Day' on October 12 in Korea, unveiling its future EV roadmap and showcasing its EV lineup, including two concept EVs. The ‘Kia EV Day’ will now be celebrated every year focusing on sustainable mobility and future growth strategies, aligning with Kia's goal of becoming a prominent player in the EV market.
Kia EV Day
Kia will showcase its entire EV lineup on October 12 in Korea, featuring the Kia EV5, EV6 GT, and EV9. The Kia EV5, which is the all-electric counterpart of the Kia Sportage, was introduced at the Chengdu Motor Show in August and the ‘Kia EV Day’ event will shed more light on the detailed specs of the EV5. Kia's EV6 GT was launched last year and is Kia’s most powerful production car, featuring a 800V multi-charging architecture for ultra-fast DC charging which is capable of charging 10-80% in under 18 minutes. Along with the existing EVs, Kia will also unveil two new concept EVs.
Kia’s Two New Concept EVs
When Kia announced the ‘Kia EV Day’ event, it shared a silhouette image of 5 Kia EV models. Models on the extreme corners can be identified as EV6 and EV9 SUVs and the model in between can be identified as the EV5 SUV. The remaining two models are the new concept EVs that Kia will introduce at the event.

Kia has unveiled teaser images of two upcoming models. One appears to be a sedan, possibly related to Hyundai's Ioniq 6, featuring angular styling and distinctive LED signatures. The other model is an SUV, likely to be named EV3, positioning itself below the EV5 with boxy proportions and LED signatures similar to other Kia EVs, such as the EV5 and EV9.
Kia’s Future Plans - Kia is focusing on EVs for its future lineup, with plans to release 14 new EV models by 2027. In India, the EV6 was launched last year and the larger EV9 will launch in 2024.
