Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift Teased: German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the EQS sedan facelift. Ahead of its official launch, Mercedes-Benz has shared a teaser of the updated EQS facelift. From the teaser, it is visible that the facelifted electric sedan will offer two grille options. In addition to the slightly updated version of the standard "panel grille," Mercedes-Benz will also offer a traditional grille. The facelift model is expected to be available from June in international markets.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift - Design

The Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift will be offered with two alternatives for the grille design - a newly designed conventional grille featuring the three-pointed star mounted on the bonnet, or the current sleeker-looking grille with the star adorned onto its surface. Talking about this, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kallenius said, “Some customers will want to keep a more sporty look and have the star integrated in the panel, and some we believe will want to have the more traditional look.”

Additionally, the EQS will offer "executive seats," as mentioned by Källenius, although specific details were not provided. This option is expected to replace the rear bench with two individual seats that can recline.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift - Battery & Range

The EQS will also feature a bigger battery pack to enhance its range, according to Källenius. This new battery is likely to be the same upgraded pack recently introduced in the EQS SUV, which has been increased from 108kWh to 118kWh. In the EQS SUV, this new pack adds around 50 km of range, potentially boosting the EQS sedan's range close to 800 km.

Sales of the EQS declined last year as customers in the sector either stuck with conventional models or opted for newer EV models, such as the BMW i7. Currently, the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan in its current-generation is offered at a price tag of Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom).
