It is now being speculated that Royal Enfield is now working on a new 450 cc motorcycle which will be built on the Royal Enfield Himalayan platform. Royal Enfield 450 cc Roadster - Design

As seen in the spy shots, the design of the 450cc Royal Enfield roadster features a neo-retro style, as it gets round LED headlight and a compact tail section, complemented by full-LED lighting. The rounded fuel tank flows seamlessly into a single-piece seat, deviating from the split seat design found on adventure bikes. Previously, test mules of this upcoming 450 cc roadster were equipped with various accessories such as a top box, saddle stays on both ends, and bar-end mirrors.

Royal Enfield 450 cc Roadster - Engine Specs & Hardware

In terms of engine specs, the Royal Enfield 450 cc roadster will be powered by the same liquid-cooled, 451cc, single-cylinder engine found in the Himalayan. This engine might be tweaked to produce power outputs in the range of 40hp and 40Nm. In terms of suspension, this Royal Enfield 450 cc roadster is equipped with a telescopic fork and a monoshock, although the travel at both ends will be lesser compared to the new Himalayan. While it may not feature the USD fork found on the Himalayan, the monoshock is expected to be upgraded from the twin-shock absorbers on the Hunter 350. The braking system might be similar to the Himalayan's, but with adjustments to better suit the characteristics of a roadster.

While some online sources are guessing that this upcoming motorcycle might be the Royal Enfield Scrambler 450, there is also a possibility that it could be the Royal Enfield Hunter 450. This assumption is based on the presence of alloy wheels and the appearance of the front wheel, which seems to be a 17-inch unit, although this is not entirely clear from the spy images. Additionally, the basic telescopic fork suggests that, like the Hunter 350, this bike could be designed to be quite cost-effective. We could expect it to be priced at around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which would put it in close competition with the Triumph Speed 400, priced at Rs 2.33 lakh.
